  • Aldi

    Aldi reopened its doors on Thursday after about a six-week major renovation project located at 202 E. Ireland Road in South Bend.

  • Caracas Bistro

    Caracas Bistro serving up traditional Venezuelan and American food has opened its doors located at 236 W Edison Road in Mishawaka. Caracas Bistro even has a television installed in the dining room that runs a slide show of the menu's offerings for those diners unfamiliar with traditional Venezuelan food. Caracas Bistro is open Monday through Sunday.

  • Chimichurri

    A small Argentinean restaurant named Chimichurri is now open for takeout at the corner of Hill Street and Jefferson Boulevard in South Bend's East Bank neighborhood.

  • Concrete Batch Plant

    A Concrete Batch Plant plans to open this summer in the New Carlisle area. The plant will be located to the southeast of the intersection of Walnut and Edison Roads creating 15 jobs.

  • CoreLife Eatery

    CoreLife Eatery continues its Midwest presence by opening a new location at 5724 Grape Road in Mishawaka on Thursday, April 19th. CoreLife Eatery is an active lifestyle restaurant offering a variety of greens, grains, and broth-based dishes. All foods are free of trans fats, artificial colors, sweetners, other artificial additives, and GMO's.

  • Dollar Tree

    A new Dollar Tree is slated to open this week inside the shopping plaza located at 4401 Western Avenue in South Bend.

  • Door Dash

    Door Dash, a San Francisco-based food delivery company has launched its way into South Bend. Door Dash will just about deliver for any restaurant that offers to-go ordering.

  • Fat Cap Smoked Meats

    Fat Cap Smoked Meats, located in Roseland, opened and is open every day of the week except Monday. Customers can choose from four regional barbecue sauces: Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Kansas City.

  • Four Winds Casino South Bend

    Four Winds Casino South Bend opened its doors January 16, 2018 located at 3300 Prairie Road. The casino is the first one in the State of Indiana owned and operated by a Native American tribe-the Pokagon band of Potawatomi Native Americans. It will join other Four Winds casino locations in New Buffalo, Hartford, and Dowagiac. The 175,000 square-foot South Bend location has 1,800 games, four restaurants, three bars, a coffee shop, a parking garage, and a merchandise shop. It also has a Players Lounge for copper-level "W" members, which boasts a complimentary buffet and contemporary decor.

  • Ironhand Vineyard Wine Bar

    Ironhand Vineyard Wine Bar is set to open end of April in The Armory (formerly known as the Newman Recreation Center) located at Eddy Street and Northside Boulevard across from the South Bend Farmer's Market. Ironhand will offer food items such as nuts, olives, cheeses and etc.

  • Martin's Super Markets

    Martin's Super Markets has expanded their Groceries to Go service. Martin's Groceries to Go store located at 2081 South Bend Avenue allows customers to order groceries online (www.martinsgroceriestogo.com) or with a Groceries to Go app and have them delivered for a $14.99 service fee and a 7-10 % tip depending on the amount of the order. The additional stores offering delivery are located at 525 S. Mayflower Road and 926 Erkskine Plaza in South Bend, 7355 Heritage Square in Granger and 306 N. Bittersweet in Mishawaka. Martin's has partnered with DineIn Delivery Service for their Groceries to Go service and delivery zones include addresses within an approximate five-mile radius of the store.

  • Metro Diner

    Metro Diner serving up classic comfort food opened on March 6 located at 425 E. University Drive in Granger.

  • Modern Market - Farm Fresh Eateries

    Modern Market - Farm Fresh Eateries opened its doors January 15, 2018 inside Notre Dame's Duncan Student Center. One of its co-founders is a Notre Dame graduate, Rob McColgan. Modern Market is a growing chain eatery focused on healthy foods. Notre Dame is the first campus location for the brand.

  • Orbit Music

    Orbit Music has found a new home on McKinley Avenue in Mishawaka inside the Town & Country shopping plaza right next to Rent-A-Center.

  • O'Reilly Auto Parts

    The new O'Reilly Auto Parts at 4121 S. Michigan in South Bend has opened its doors.

  • Panda Express

    Panda Express located at 209 E. Ireland Road has opened.

  • Penn High School

    Penn High School receives School Board approval of $3.6 million to buy new locker rooms at Penn Stadium. Penn High School's football stadium calls for a 13,200 square-foot locker room building. Plans are for the facility to be built on the south side of the TCU Freed Field and will feature three locker rooms that will be used for football games and track meets, training rooms, offices for coaches, public restrooms, and a concessions area. This new facility will remedy the need for more locker room space when multiple events are occuring.

  • Portillo's

    Portillo's opened in March, located at 5102 N. Main Street, Mishawaka and includes a drive-thru option.

  • SF Motors

    SF Motors, who purchased the former AM General Commercial assembly plant in Mishawaka revealed a pair of electric vehicles that will be produced there. SF Motors plans to build a pair of electric crossover SUVs called the SF5 and SF7. SF Motors will produce up to 50,000 electric vehicles a year at its Mishawaka plant.

  • South Bend Cafe

    Constuction continues along at South Bend Café inside a retail space at The LaSalle which entails a similar concept to Café at The Overlook. South Bend Café plans to open its doors soon.

  • Spirited

    Spirited is a new downtown South Bend cocktail bar to occupy the vacant space on South Michigan Street between Ben's Soft Pretzels and Jimmy John's gourmet sandwiches. Spirited is the latest venture for Tim Firestone and business partner Erik Haag - part of the group that owns and operates Blackthorn Golf Club, while Brooke Donegan, a veteran of the local cocktail scene, operates as co-owner/general manager of Spirited. Spirited will also include a food menu leaning toward fresh, unique items - even late at night. Spirited is slated to open late spring or early summer.

  • The Hideaway

    The Hideaway cocktail bar opened its doors inside The LaSalle apartment building in downtown South Bend. The Hideaway features 10 signature cocktails as well as craft and domestic beer and wine in addition to food options. Hours are 2:00 p.m. to midnight every day except Tuesday.

  • The Ivy at Berlin Place

    Construction continues along at The Ivy at Berlin Place at Four Winds Field on the south end of downtown South Bend. The first of the new three-story buildings is slated for occupancy by July 20. It will include a rooftop space that can be rented out for events and can accommodate 300 guests. This space is scheduled for completion in June. The Ivy at Berlin Place will include 121 apartments as well as about 10,000 square feet of restaurant/retail space.

  • The Shed

    The Shed located at 12685 Adams Road in Granger has re-opened its doors after undergoing new ownership and major renovations.

  • Three Twenty at the Cascade

    Construction of Three Twenty at the Cascade has begun on the 42.5 million luxury condominium high-rise project where Captain Alexander's Wharf restaurant once stood. Three Twenty will have 18 condominiums and space for two or three restaurants. This marks the first of three potential phases of The Cascade with plans for the completion of the first building for Fall of 2019.

  • Uber Eats

    Uber Eats has launched its way into South Bend. Uber Eats is the food delivery version of the popular ride-sharing app. Uber Eats is partnered with 30-plus restaurants in the area and once the app is opened, you'll only see those options available for your location.

  • Wings Etc.

    A new Wings Etc. plans to open on South Bend's northwest side around September 1st.
